COMMUNITY HELPERS' DAY

On Friday November 7th, Pre-K will have our "Community Helpers' Day. On this day, your child should come dressed to school as a community helper of his/her choosing (doctor, vet, dentist, nurse, teacher, librarian, police officer, etc.) You do not need to follow school dress code guidelines on this day. PLEASE DO NOT FEEL THAT YOU NEED TO GO OUT AND PURCHASE A COSTUME FOR THIS EVENT! Use resources and materials you have at home as you and your child put together a costume. For example, an adult-sized white shirt could be worn as a "white jacket" for a vet, doctor, or nurse. Your child is also encouraged to bring tools or items that his/her particular community helper might use to do his/her job. We do request that no toy weapons of any kind be brought to school (i.e. guns if your child comes dressed as a police officer).
Tomorrow, Tuesday October 28th, we will send home a homework assignment (with instructions) for your child to complete and bring in on Community Helpers' Day. Children will have the chance to share their costume and knowledge of their community helper with the class on Community Helpers' Day. We want this to be an enjoyable day for the children and an opportunity for them to share their ideas with their classmates.
